Mother: Is something the matter?
Daughter: No.
M: You're just so quiet.
D: Am I not allowed to be quiet? I said no, go away.
M: Yes you're allowed to be quiet.
D: Well there you go. Now go away!
M: Did something go wrong today?
D: I said everthing is fine! What the hell do you want?
M: Are you sure?
D: Yes! God, screw off! I answered your stupid question already!
M: You don't need to talk to me like that, I'm just trying to mother you.
D: I don't need you to. I can take care of myself. For God's sake, just go away! I'm capable of handling my own problems!
M: Contrary to popular thought, I'm not trying to ruin your life.
D: I know that. But you're doing a pretty damn good job for not trying. Take a long walk off a short pier and LEAVE ME ALONE!
M: I'm just trying to help.
D: I told you, everything's fine. Just leave me alone. Get the hell away from me! Go 'not ruin' someone else's life.
M: Alright, fine.
D: GAH! Thank God! WHEN CAN I MOVE OUT?!
That was a convo with my mum this evening. The italics, of course, is what is going on in my head. I would seriously prefer being beaten with a stick to these convos.
